STEPHEN A SMITH DIVIDES TWITTER AFTER CLAIMING LEBRON JAMES SHOULD OWN NBA TEAM

Stephen A Smith left Twitter divided after claiming that Lebron James deserves to own an NBA team.

The ESPN host’s followers know that he has a lot of opinions. He is famous for his expertise and analysis of basketball. While not many agree with his hot takes these days, his opinions do attract a lot of attention.

In the recent episode of First Take, the host rallied behind Lebron James, who wants to own an NBA team.

STEPHEN A SMITH SAYS LEBRON JAMES DESERVES TO OWN A TEAM

Stephen started by saying how difficult it is to own an NBA team. He called it a ‘good old boys’ club.

“You don’t get in just because you have the money,” he says.

The host then began recounting all of Lebron’s qualities that make him exceptional and worthy of being an owner.

“What Lebron has meant to the game of basketball, I am gonna go so far to say that I think the league would owe it to him to facilitate him owning a basketball team.”

He hasn’t just been a superstar on the court, he’s been a superstar off the court,” the 52-year-old TV personality said.

“He’s been a quintessential role model in every way, shape and form,” Stephen says before calling Lebron a superstar, a champion and a role model “who’s put in the work.”

“He’s exhibited exemplary professionalism and class,” the First Take panellist further said.

He goes on to rave about Lebron’s character as he made his case for the basketball icon to own an NBA team.

TWITTER REACTS TO ESPN HOST’S CLAIMS

While some Twitter users agreed with Stephen’s take, others were not on board with his reasoning.

“The league doesn’t owe anyone anything in the form of affirmative action in owning a team. That’s ridiculous,” one user wrote responding to Stephen’s claims.
